Save a tooth, wear a mouth guard!

Teeth may be as tough as a turtle shell, but they’re no match for a line-drive, soccer ball or elbow to the jaw. Faster than you can say “OUCH!,” a tooth can break, move or get knocked out. The best way to protect your teeth? Wear a mouth guard. This simple piece of moldable plastic can help keep your teeth where they belong. For more information or to pick up a mouth guard, stop by one of our offices today.

When sports and teeth collide.

For a broken tooth, rinse the mouth with cold water, put a cold compress on the face and call your dentist.

For a tooth that’s moved, call your dentist immediately.

For a knocked-out tooth, time is of the essence. If it’s dirty, rinse but don’t scrub. Put it back in the socket, if possible. If that doesn’t work, put the tooth in a cup of milk and get to the dentist right away. And if you think there’s a jaw or head injury, an emergency room visit is warranted.
