All Bluefish Services
Because Bluefish staff members have advanced, interdisciplinary training in both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics, we see our patients through a lens of early intervention and integrated care. We believe that less is more and offer personalized education to help you stay on top of your child’s health.
We take the time to get to know you and your family and recommend treatment options that are customized for your child. We love it when parents get involved and welcome questions about cavities, white fillings, nitrous, fluoride and any other dental issue.
Many orthodontic problems can be detected long before a child’s permanent teeth are present in the mouth. Because our staff is dual trained in pediatric dentistry and orthodontics, we are in the unique position to identify orthodontic challenges early, which may reduce complications or the need for treatment later.
Some teeth can be prone to cavities simply because of their shape. When teeth have deep grooves, food can get trapped easily. Dental sealants can help prevent cavities by filling in the grooves of the teeth so that food and bacteria don’t have a place to hide.
As part of our commitment to minimally invasive dentistry, we offer laser dentistry for children. Lasers use energized water and light to safely perform a number of dental procedures.
If a child has extensive treatment needs, developmental delays, or despite our best efforts is simply uncooperative in the office, then we may recommend hospital dentistry. General anesthesia allows all treatment needs to be completed in a single visit while the patient is asleep. Our dentists provide hospital dentistry at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend as an outpatient procedure.
It makes our day to see kids transform from stressed to fearless! To help ease the anxiety some children may have, we offer “dress rehearsals”, reserved quiet rooms, therapy dog assistance and age-appropriate education and coaching. Let us know how we can help your child with any physical, emotional or behavioral needs they may have.
